The following is a guest post noting some of the greatest legal underdogs of all time and details of their success. Further additions welcome in the comments section below.

It is an unfortunate consequence of living in a world governed by economics that those with the most money should have most of the power. Often, this results in those on the lower end of things being pushed aside as the mighty, cash-laden overlords attempt to place profits over people. Luckily, there are actions that can be taken on the part of the little guy in the court of law. Sometimes those actions come to a story-book ending and the underdog ends up knocking out the heavyweight contender.

Some of the most famous of these involve normal people, trying to live their lives and inevitably finding themselves victims due to the carelessness or just plain contempt of powerful organizations that should certainly know better. Though many of the victors must live with scars for the rest of their lives, by putting the abusers in check they help to stop similar mistreatment in the future and possibly prevent others from having to fight the same fight again.
